PDF Settings in Adobe Distiller
In Adobe Distiller, select "Job Options..." from the "Distiller" menu. The list below represents the settings that best optimize PDFs for higher-end printing. Keep in mind, however, if the PostScript contains bad information about fonts, graphics or other elements, the PDF may still not print well. All fonts must be embedded in the PostScript, and all halftone screens should be set to at least 85 lpi (ideally 106 lpi) before the PostScript is made. Most applications (PageMaker, Quark, FrameMaker, etc.) have varying ways of setting the output.
